Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 June 2026 · DRAFT — review before publishing
Cymbal is built so your music stays yours. This policy explains what the app does and does not collect. If anything here is unclear, email playcymbal.app@gmail.com.
The short version
- Your audio files are processed on your device. They are not uploaded to us.
- We do not sell or share your personal data.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Audio you import
Songs you bring into Cymbal — and the drum stems, charts, and notation generated from them — are created and stored on your device (and, if you enable it, in your own iCloud account). Audio separation and transcription run locally on Apple Silicon. We do not receive copies of your audio.
Purchases & subscriptions
Credits and subscriptions are processed through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Receipts are verified on your device. Apple's privacy policy governs payment information; we do not collect or store it.
Sign in with Apple
If you sign in, we use Apple's authentication only. A private identifier is stored in your device Keychain to recognise you on later launches. We do not collect your name or email beyond what Sign in with Apple provides.
Diagnostics
If you opt in to share crash and usage diagnostics, Apple may provide us aggregated, anonymised reports to help fix bugs. These contain no audio and no personally identifying content. (Confirm against final analytics setup.)
Children
Cymbal is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.
